✦ Who We Are

About IBS Zimbabwe

The International Biometric Society (IBS) Zimbabwe region is a dynamic community of statisticians, biologists, data scientists, and researchers dedicated to advancing biometric science across Africa.

The International Biometric Society is a global organization with over 6,000 members in more than 65 countries. Founded in 1947, IBS promotes the development and application of statistical and mathematical methods in the biological sciences. The Zimbabwe region was established in 2024 to serve the growing community of biometricians in the country. We bring together researchers from academia, government, and industry to collaborate on pressing challenges in agriculture, health, ecology, and environmental science — using data-driven approaches to inform policy and drive sustainable development.
